After a long flight, we arrived to this land of opportunities.I always thought that I would feel euphoria after coming here but surprisingly,I didn't feel new,out of place or strange. It was A friend of J had come to welcome us.We went to his house, where we were going to stay for next 8 days.A surprising was waiting for me in their house, their 5 year old son.He is such a darling.Soon we become best of friends. The Couple is really nice & friendly.
Now J & me started to hunt for houses. Finally we got our dream house. It's a nice small apartment.Soon we have shifted to our house & started a routine life.I went to club house twice or thrice to check if I can make some new friends. But to my surprise,I find Americans more friendly than Indians.I don't know why Indians here find so bad talking to other Indians.
One day J & I were coming from store & in lift we met this gal who stays on the same floor so we tried to talk her.I asked her where is she from, trying to find some connection & topic to her.She told she is from Delhi so I asked about some things & found her blank about the places.I thought may be I made some mistake in names or something. But as soon as lift stopped ,she literally run from the lift leaving me startled about what happened..I asked J what was that about...J gave me a big weird look n said,'you should not have asked about where she is from, that is offending.'I wondered n asked what is there so insulting about it...n well, the answer was kind of weird but true..It was like 'some indian people find it offending. So now onwards,do not ask anyone where are they from'.
Now We rather I started to look for furniture.I did full research & took J on Saturday for the furniture shopping.I found one beautiful sofa set & made J buy it even if it meant spending twice the original budget. Now our home became truly a dream home.I am loving it.
Meanwhile,J & I went to DMV & gave our written driving test and successfully managed to pass it.Life is looking good.:)
